Big Blue has been a project old school pre runner style truck that I have been working on for since 2001! It’s a truck that I’ve wanted since I was a teenager growing up in the 80s. It’s been a great truck for me and all though I do not want to sell it, just does not fit my lifestyle anymore. It’s still in pretty good shape being as old as it is!
It has a suspension lift from Rancho and a body lift to fit the new red letter general grabber 35” inch tires on old style “Einky” aluminum rims. It has 1 ton steering components connected to Superlift pre-runner style centering steering. It has absolutely no bump steer and drives straight down the road. The front brakes have been upgraded to power slots.
The drivetrain has been upgraded with 4:56 gears, warn hubs and air lockers front and rear. It has an onboard air with a tank that has ports for airing tires under the hood and out the back underneath the tailgate.
For electrical it has a high output alternator charging two optima batteries with plug-in style jumper cable ports both under the hood and underneath the tailgate in the rear. it is equipped with rock lights out the back and three Hella 10 inch off-road lights that are wired into the highbeams for easy use. They are equipped with arming switches for both front and rear lights. Center light is a spotlight and the two outside are widespread beam for optimal night time driving. It has an electric fan to cool the engine and a K&N air filter. The truck has a brand new fuel pump and has had a complete engine tuneup.
My wife’s favorite feature is the $3000 sound system. The truck has Dinamat installed in all the body panels and Polly stuffed into all the hollow spaces in the truck body to eliminate bass body vibration. The alpine head unit is driving two JL (“Slash” series) amplifiers one amp for the mids and highs and one for the bass speakers. It has Diamond audio mid and separates it the doors and 5X8 in the rear pilers. All mounted in the stock speaker locations. Bass is provided by two “JL” 12 inch truck speakers behind the seats. I’m still working on a few minor issues that will determine the final asking price. The more I fix the more I will need to get for the truck. Right now I am asking for $8500

1985 FORD F150 Stepside
1978 F150 Stepside race truck. I do not know the race history....would like to find out any information on it. Truck is for Sale...make offer. Truck is currently at a storage facility in Apple Valley, CA.
Update: No Motor or Trans. The hood, front fenders are fiberglass. Side door are the factory steel door skins. Bed is aluminum sides w/ fiberglass fenders. Someone had spent a lot of money on the fabrication on this truck. It would make a great vintage racer.
Update 03/22/20 - I was contacted by a gentleman who had helped build this truck and was able to provide some much needed information. I was informed on 03/19/20 that this truck was built at Reno Sheet Metal (Los Angeles, CA) in the 80's as pre-runner for Danny Brown of Reseda, CA. Original color was a pale blue. The gentleman stated, "truck was never raced by us. It was used as a pre-runner". The rear custom (widened) fenders/molds were made at Reno sheet-metal in North Hollywood and the person that molded those fenders up was Ed Horst of abstract fiberglass in Reseda. He went on to state, "As far as I know we never let anybody else use the molds". the original motor was a 302 with a C6 transmission. *I did some online research in an attempt to reach out to Reno Sheet Metal. All phone numbers have been disconnected.

Time to sell my project. Smog exempt.
Mechanical are done, needs the body work done.
I broke her in with a 2K mile trip to Baja Sur for the 50th Baja 1000 with no issues.
Asking 10K OBO. No trades. Got enough stuff to work on.
Make me an offer. Worst I can do is say no.

1973 K5 Blazer
Originally purchase from PO with work done by Solo Motorsports. Interior cage, Deaver springs, King shocks 2.5 smooth body with remote resi (12” F/18” R), spare tire rack hanging out the back. Strapped at 2” of droop. Front and rear tube bumpers with front skid plate. Truck is lifted about 5”, all springs.
What I’ve done since owning it.
FRONT DANNA 44:
Complete rebuild on front axle. All new bearings, seals, bushings, ball joints, Tie rod ends, U joints, wheel studs, disc, brake pads. Pinion uses a 1350 U joint. Gears are stock 3.73 gears but I gutted the carrier and installed a Spartan lunch box locker in it. Re built the king shocks with all new seals and oil and changed the flutter stack to make the initial hit smoother. Relocated the shock mounts so I can get the full 12” of travel. 6” droop, 5” compression. Strapped. Lower shock mount is also a gusset to support the “C”’s on the axle ends.
Installed 1 ton high angle Tie Rod ends on a cross over steering set up. 2WD steering gear box with a Jeep ½” drop pitman arm to clear the springs.
ORD engine cross member installed with DIY 4X motor mounts.
REAR 12 BOLT:
Complete rebuild of the rear axle. All new bearings seals, 3.73 gears, Auburn gears limited slip, Wheel studs, all brake hardware, Heavy duty drums/shoes. Rebuilt the shocks with all new seals and oil. Built new lower shock mount to use the full 18” of travel. 9” up/down. Strapped. No blocks.
15X10 old school aluminum rims. 35” BFG Mud terrains with about 50% tread left.
BUILT 350 MOTOR with HOLLEY EFI:
I rebuilt a 1990 350 motor from a K5. Standard bore. Crank polished.
New flat top pistons balanced to + or - .25 grams.
New Comp Cams roller cam. Used GM roller lifters and hardware. New cam thrust plate.
New true roller timing chain
New high volume oil pump
New Aftermarket Vortec heads set up for .550 lift cam. New valves, valve springs and seals. 7/16 screw in studs. Scorpion 1.6 full roller rockers. Pocket ported to clean up intake and exhaust runners and smooth transitions to valve seats. Polished exhaust ports. Port matched to intake and exhaust.
Air gap style Vortec intake.
New water pump, alt, 3 ow aluminum radiator, Power steering pump w/ cooler, Factory oil cooler, 50K HEI coil in cap distributor and accel wires.
Headman long tube headers. New true dual 2 ½” exhaust with dynomax mufflers. Factory serpentine set up.
Holley Sniper EFI. Tanks inc in tank pump and sump system. Russell lines and fittings with return plumbed back to the tank. I modified the in tank system by mounting the factory sending unit to the back of the support arm. That way there is only one hole in the top of the tank. 32G factory tank with skid plate.
Heavy duty 12” clutch and pressure plate. New flywheel.
Motor has about 425 HP/475 TQ.
Factory Sm 465 transmission with new gaskets. Repaired the shifter mount to tighten it up so less slop and better shifts.
Rebuilt 205 T case with all new gaskets, seals and bearings. Looks to have a factory SYE on the rear output. 1350 U joints.
Came with a full interior cage but it was blocking the dash so I cut out the front part of the cage.
PRP bucket seats front and PRP bench seat rear. Crow 2 point belts. Seats are worn.
Vintage Air system installed with a Sanden compressor. Custom mounting brackets built for the compressor to mount to the factory compressor mount and still use the serpentine belt system.
Custom dash insert with marshall electric gages:
Electric speedo with pulse adaptor on T case output.
I took a ’85 K5 wiring harness and modified it for this K5. Has power windows, power door locks. Removed wiring for the AC and heat since I installed the Vintage Air system
Split the fuse block to run 2 batteries isolated from each other.
One battery runs all lights, stereo and race radio.
Primary battery runs everything else.
Blue seas battery isolator keeps the circuits separate when the engine is not running but will combine and charge both batteries when running. This way you can run the lights and radios until that battery dies but can still start the truck.
All new door window seals, gaskets and felts installed.
Installed a tailgate and have the window and internals for the window.
Installed a used softtopper to cover the truck. It has a few tears in it.
Have a hard top that I have been doing some repairs/modifying. Have a set of solid glass windows and a set of good slider windows for it with good vent wings and newer gasket.
Installed new Energy suspension body mounts.
Have a new LMC truck hood and front fenders still in the boxes. Hood has new hinges already installed.
New light bulbs in everything, including headlights.
Hellia old school round offroad lights. Center spot and outs are floods.
Roll cage runs thru the body and is welded to the frame.
I have a lot of extra parts for the truck as well.

1955 Willys Jeep. Extended 20'' wheel base for a better ride and more room. 350 Chevy engine, 4 spd transmission and 231 transfercase from a 95 CJ. Dana 44 front and rear both with Detroit Lockers. 74 Early Ford Bronco British racing green paint. Complete restoration by Rockyroads. A one of a kind Bronco known as the Desert Drifter in Bronco Drivef magazine 2004 April issue #8. I have owned it since 2004.
351 Windor engine stroked to 392 with MSD ignition billet distributor and Edelbrock 600 cfm carburetor. Over 400 hp! Ron Davis 4 core aluminum radiator and trans oil coolers. American Eagle 10x15 aluminum rims mounted to 33 in BFG All Terrain tires. Trans Pro race ready rebuilt C4 automatic transmission & Trans Pro Dana 20 tranfer case. Custom built Ford 9 in rear axle with 31 splineaxles, 4.11 Detroit locker. Ford Explorer disc brakes. Mercedes Corbeau seats with 5 point Simpson belt system. Pioneer stereo with 6 speakers. Warn 8000 winch with remote control option. RR high desert roll cage front to back. RR fiberglass hood and Baja high desert fenders. Custom half door to keep dust away. Custom enclosed doors and top. Cust Bimi top for the sun shade.
18 inches of wheel travel in the rear & 13 inches in the front. 36 inch Race Runner shocks with shocks mounted where original coils sit. Rear custom fabricated trailing arms and 4 link system. Fox air bump stops at each corner to damping bigger bumps. Ford 9 inch axle attached to the 4 link suspension with 8 heavy duty hemi joints at each link. Very smooth wheel travel.
